This position will support and assist with the development, management, and analysis of geospatial information and other data sets relevant to the operations of the NWTF.  The GIS Analyst I will increase organizational effectiveness and efficiency by providing technical expertise and assistance for membership recruitment, project development, event planning, accomplishment reporting, and outreach efforts.



  • Maintain and evaluate NWTF's staffing territories, chapter/banquet location, and chapter membership density databases.
  • Identify high priority areas for major philanthropic gifts by compiling and analyzing tapestry data along with NWTF specific major donor data.
  • Support and assist the Membership Marketing Manager to identify areas for non-event membership marketing campaigns and partnerships.
  • Perform habitat analyses to target high priority areas for conservation projects.
  • Assist in compiling and analyzing partner datasets to identify opportunities for collaboration.
  • Manage NWTF accomplishment reporting database and provide technical support to users.
  • Provide on-site and remote technical support for NWTF staff utilizing GIS software.



  • Bachelor's degree in Geography/GIS or a degree in Natural Resources, Wildlife, Forestry, or Marketing with a strong background in spatial data and GIS applications.
  • Experience using ESRI software/products (ArcMap, ArcCatalog, ArcServer, ArcGIS Online, ESRI apps such as ArcCollector/ArcExplorer and ArcPro).
  • Ability to query and provide quality assurance and quality control of large datasets.
  • Some exposure to various programming languages (Python/ArcPy, R, or SQL).
  • Experience using Microsoft Office software/products.
  • Experience using handheld GPS units (ArcCollector, iOs, Android, or Trimble).
  • Strong analysis, writing, and communication skills are required.
  • Valid driver's license is required.



  • An advanced degree in Geography/GIS or a degree in Natural Resources, Wildlife, Forestry, or Marketing with a strong background in spatial data and GIS applications.
  • Two (2) plus years of related work experience.
  • Research and/or advanced project experience.
  • Experience with utilizing Tableau Software.
  • Experience with remote sensing.
  • Experience providing educational and technical support with software/hardware issues.
  • Accredited GIS certification such as GISP or ESRI technical certifications.



General office setting, typically the employee may sit comfortably to perform the work, usually at a computer terminal with short breaks or lunch period. However, there may be some bending/stooping, reaching above shoulder level, walking; standing; carrying of light items such as papers, books or packages of up to 25 pounds. Should be able to hear & speak clearly using phone / headset to communicate with business partners; be able to navigate, view & enter information on the computer.
